Youth & Education
The Pomme de Terre Chapter of Muskies Inc. is committed to introducing young people and families to fishing, conservation, and the outdoors. Throughout the year, our chapter supports youth and family events, donates to youth-focused organizations, and provide hands-on education.
Our efforts include hosting free educational seminars, participating in sport shows, and supporting outdoor education programs, accessible fishing opportunities, boating safety, and fishing education. Through these efforts, we help foster a greater appreciation for Missouri’s natural resources. Chapter Projects
Our chapter works closely with the Missouri Department of Conservation and other partners to help improve and maintain Missouri's five muskie lakes. Funds raised by the chapter go directly toward projects that benefit muskie fisheries, habitat, stocking efforts, and the resources needed to maintain healthy fisheries for years to come.
Over the years, chapter members have contributed both funding and hundreds of volunteer hours toward projects such as habitat improvements, vegetation beds, hatchery needs, brush-pile installations, PIT-tag research, and equipment used to improve muskie survival and management. Donations help make these hands-on projects possible.
Research & Conservation
Protecting Missouri's muskie fisheries requires good information and long-term conservation. The Pomme de Terre Chapter supports science-based research, catch-and-release practices, habitat conservation, and projects conducted in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation and other qualified organizations.
Chapter members have participated in catch-data collection, spring netting, population monitoring, muskie-management planning, and PIT-tag research designed to better understand stocking rates, age, growth, and fish populations. By supporting research and conservation, your donation helps provide fisheries professionals with better information to manage Missouri's muskie resources for the future.
